Canada — China Culinary Exchange

Our programmes

Three ways to come
to the table.

Cultural exchange, culinary craft and community benefit—each one a different door into the same conversation.

How we work

Exchange is not a performance. It is a relationship.

Our programmes are built with the people in the room, not for an audience. We listen first, then convene the right mix of cooks, hosts, thinkers and makers. The result is a table where expertise is shared openly and every guest has something to give.

We work in partnership with restaurants, cultural organisations, community groups and individuals who share our belief in the power of food to connect.

Cultural Exchange

Conversations that open doors.

Canada and China are two of the world’s most dynamic economies—and two of its most distinct food cultures. Our cultural exchange programme connects Canadian entrepreneurs, business leaders and institutions with their Chinese counterparts through private dinners, salons, delegations and candid conversation.

  • For entrepreneurs, business and community leaders, cultural institutions and educators
  • Curated table conversations and peer exchanges
  • Cultural context for stronger, more durable partnerships

Culinary Exchange

Two kitchens,
in conversation.

A meeting place for Chinese and Western chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers, food writers and culinary educators. We create formats where technique can be discussed honestly, ingredients can be explored, and the stories behind a dish are given as much weight as the dish itself.

  • For chefs, restaurateurs and food professionals
  • Kitchen dialogues, tastings and technique exchanges
  • Public conversations that bring the craft to the community

Community & Public Benefit

Exchange that
gives back.

Culture is strongest when it is shared beyond the private room. Our community programme brings the Association’s table into the wider life of Markham and the Greater Toronto Area—through shared meals, learning, cultural celebrations and partnerships with local organisations.

  • For families, students, newcomers and community organisations
  • Community meals, workshops and cultural gatherings
  • Programmes designed to be open, useful and welcoming

Our approach

Four steps,
one shared table.

No two programmes look the same, but the way we work is consistent.

01

Listen

We begin with the people, the place and the question that matters to them.

02

Convene

We bring the right mix of voices to the table—and design the room for candour.

03

Exchange

We create space for technique, stories and perspectives to move in both directions.

04

Share

We carry what we learn back into the community and into the next conversation.
